So weary I could cry.

I am discovering the joys of running after a two-year old with a watermelon strapped to my midsection. A has decided this week to start getting into things like he never did before, and it is forcing me to run after/clean up after him more than usual.

For example:
I was sorting through baby things and pulling out the infant stuff the other day, and set up A with his painting. He decided to stick his fingers into all the pots of paint, and rather than put paint to paper, smeared it all over his shirt, face and pants. He then decided that the dirty brush water was best to drink, and proceeded to drink a half a glass of it and then spit it back up all over his art table, floor and chair.

Why, you ask? I would dearly like to know.

Another example:
A wasn't quite ready to go to bed the other night, after we had put him down, so he got up, climbed up his bureau, and pulled down the basket of baby powder, petroleum jelly, lysol, and saline spray. He then proceeded to spray all the lysol into the carpet, smeared the petroleum jelly and baby powder into two spots by his bed and emptied out the saline solution somewhere I have yet to discover. My friends called this the "dirty protest". (And yes, I have since started re-baby-proofing with a two-year old and infant in mind!)

I would be happily hanging on if it weren't for all these extra little messes I am now facing, and having to clean up. It is slightly taxing, and I am really really counting down the days until I can get both my breath and my waist back. I know I will have recovery time and a whole different kind of fatigue to deal with, however, I am really really done with this whole pregnancy thing now. I am over-reaching already and thinking of how I am going to get my pre-wedding body back after the two boys. Ambitious? Heck yes, but a girl needs something to focus on!!!

Well, off to swimming lessons - wish me luck trying to keep my hands on a slippery fish in the pool!
