Weaning baby

While this might cause an uproar with the La Leche Leaguers among you, (and I welcome your comments/feedback!) Little-A and I have decided to part ways. Not permanently, I am simply weaning him off of me, and onto formula.

Now, I know all those well-founded arguments to keep him on the "Breast Is Best" train, however my first kid did just fine, thank you very much after three months of breast and switched to formula with no hiccups, and only positive results.

(with reference only to my kids, and in my limited experience) They sleep better on formula. They sleep longer on formula. They are not grabbing at your breast every two hours because they feel fuller on formula. Daddy can feed them. Grampa can feed them. Mummy can walk away for twenty minutes not in between a scheduled feed and know that her little precious is still going to eat. Mommy also can measure how much he is getting and not worry about lack of production or leaving baby hungry.

I have happily embraced formula, and while I continue to put cabbage in my bra for the remainder of the week, I also look forward to a morning where I don't wake up sopping in sour milk.

And Little-A is happy as ever.
