Eeeeeps! I have to wait an additional five days from my previously expected delivery date! I am so big and uncomfortable now, I don't know how I am going to hold on! But we are in a pickle: my OB/GYN only delivers scheduled "C"'s on Wednesdays, and the Wednesday before the long weekend is a little on the early side. So instead, we are going late: the Wednesday AFTER the long weekend!!!
I am now really starting to envision my water breaking early: that's how we heralded A's entry to the world - I was shopping at IKEA with my mom, and we were having a bite to eat before we tackled the Swedish Mosh Pit, and my water broke all over the cafeteria!
I also can't imagine how this bump is going to get any bigger out in front: it is all out in front, which is a good thing aesthetically, but not for my lower back and ribs!!!
I found out too, that the new date will make the Peanut a cusp-Taurus/Gemini: sounds like very stubborn with a lot of different personalities! Wonder how that will work with the two Libras and the Scorpio?

In a Technorati head-spin
I'm relaunching the blog, and bought my first domain: I feel so grown-up! Now I am struggling to piece together the little bits and pieces of SEO I learned from my last life before I became a full-time SAHM, and trying to launch myself out into the blogosphere so I actually attract readers outside of my Mom and Girlfriends. I've been pinging myself on Technorati, and joining all sorts of blog directories in the hopes that this will start a readership, but I realize that I am taking the good with the bad, and by leaving comments open to "Anyone", they really do mean ANYONE!!!
With thanks to the Ladies at the Mom Bloggers Club who have welcomed me into the latest little e-circle, I must remind myself to go through and edit some of the comments, as they range from the inappropriate to the ridiculous!
Also, please stay tuned for a colour-scheme freshen-up! I am trying to look unique amongst the Blogger templates, and haven't quite found my niche.

Worms, worms, worms!
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, I like to challenge our household to produce as little garbage as possible, and to recycle/compost as much as possible. Noticing our compost wasn't working as efficiently, I took myself to the local garden store to seek out some red wriggler worms, to amp up our compost dirt. They turned me onto Carole, a local "Worm Lady". Little did I know that seeking out some worms would result in such an odd adventure.
I called Carole, and she told me that she would have to get another order in before she 'harvested' her babies - I think this is soft language for chopping them in half. (Anyone remember dissecting earthworms in Science 9? And how if you chop them in half, they grow back into two worms?) We got the call a week later, and the worms were ready for pickup Saturday afternoon. After a wild goose chase through winding roads, down dead-end walkways and a couple of dark doors, I came face to face with a yoghurt container full of dirt and worms. There was a very anticlimactic moment. I was definitely expecting more. I took the worms, handed her the cash, and she gave me more worm literature on how to care for my worms, what to feed them, and how small to chop up their food. Call me crazy, but I am not crushing eggshells or chopping orange peels into bite-size pieces just for the sake of some little red worms. I am a part-time gardener at best, and if I can't just chuck the worms in with my banana peels and have done with it, it's not likely to happen.
Needless to say, the worms are in the compost, Carole was wonderfully accommodating but verged on the fanatical, and I have a handout teaching me more about red wrigglers and "worm time" than I ever wanted to know about in this lifetime. Hopefully the little buggers will improve the dirt!

A Great Mommy Blog and a New Leaf~!
I was just turned onto a great mommy blog: Baby Rabies! This Mommy blog is fearless, and is inspiring me to be more so in my writing and style. Checking her stuff out, I feel a bit too safe and bland.
So check Jill out, and keep your eyes peeled for a revamped look and voice in the coming days: something tells me my brain is going to crave something at 3am with the midnight feedings!

So weary I could cry.
I am discovering the joys of running after a two-year old with a watermelon strapped to my midsection. A has decided this week to start getting into things like he never did before, and it is forcing me to run after/clean up after him more than usual.
For example:
I was sorting through baby things and pulling out the infant stuff the other day, and set up A with his painting. He decided to stick his fingers into all the pots of paint, and rather than put paint to paper, smeared it all over his shirt, face and pants. He then decided that the dirty brush water was best to drink, and proceeded to drink a half a glass of it and then spit it back up all over his art table, floor and chair.
Why, you ask? I would dearly like to know.
Another example:
A wasn't quite ready to go to bed the other night, after we had put him down, so he got up, climbed up his bureau, and pulled down the basket of baby powder, petroleum jelly, lysol, and saline spray. He then proceeded to spray all the lysol into the carpet, smeared the petroleum jelly and baby powder into two spots by his bed and emptied out the saline solution somewhere I have yet to discover. My friends called this the "dirty protest". (And yes, I have since started re-baby-proofing with a two-year old and infant in mind!)
I would be happily hanging on if it weren't for all these extra little messes I am now facing, and having to clean up. It is slightly taxing, and I am really really counting down the days until I can get both my breath and my waist back. I know I will have recovery time and a whole different kind of fatigue to deal with, however, I am really really done with this whole pregnancy thing now. I am over-reaching already and thinking of how I am going to get my pre-wedding body back after the two boys. Ambitious? Heck yes, but a girl needs something to focus on!!!
Well, off to swimming lessons - wish me luck trying to keep my hands on a slippery fish in the pool!

31 Weeks and a Belly Shot
Thought I would post a quick updated photo of the Belly: I haven't been nearly as diligent as Janine was, but I guess that's the reality with a second baby.
I am now fully into the "uncomfortable" stage: I can't stand for long, my back hurts constantly, and I need to take out shares in Rolaids. Ahhhhh, the joys of pregnancy! Never mind, we are almost done for EVER and EVER!!!!! I started packing my hospital bag today - how OCD is that!!! But it gives me a good visual at the front door when the pain shoots up my back, that we are almost there and soon into a whole new world of pain - sleepless nights, more of a toddler asserting himself frequently in the negative, and potty training. Woo Hoo!!!!!!

"Lu awesome"
Grandpa gave us tickets to Friday nights' Canucks game, and this time we brought A! What a treat for the little guy: his eyes were as big as saucers the entire evening, and thanks to a couple of gift certificates and a picket line with the Concession workers, a very affordable one! We started with dinner across the street from the arena, and arrived in time for the pre-skate, which is something I had never done.
We were able to walk right down to the glass and get up-close to the Canucks bench, watching the players come on and off the ice. I snapped happily away, attempting to get a close-up of Luongo, as he is currently A's favourite player, and the one that A always wants to be when we are playing hockey in the den. I got a couple of great shots of the players, and will try and blow them up for A's bedroom and wall of hockey souvenirs.
What a great night: not only did we win the game, but a particularly obnoxious L.A. fan sitting right behind my left ear got his comeuppance when the Kings first came back with two in the second then got roundly trounced with two more from us in the third. He succeeded in alienating enough of our section with his cacaphony that after the 'Nucks came back with the final two, we had fans walking up three and four rows to yell "HA" and "TAKE THAT" at him! (I also think it is a particularly obnoxious tactic when you loudly comment on the game, using all of the players' first names! Did he go to school with these guys for goodness' sake? I mean really!)
Regardless, it was a fun-filled family night, and one which you will see from the pictures was "Family Jersey Night". This worked out well in my favour, as I am getting as big as a house, and one of the few things that fits me comfortably now are my Husbands' clothes!

The BIG project!
Art Class is over now, but we sure went out with a bang! During the second-to-last-class, we were ushered into the big room, and given giant 5'x4' sheets of paper, and told to roll up our pants and sleeves and take off our shoes and socks! A and I gamely braved it, and dutifully rolled up our cuffs. We were then told to "paint to the music", and GO FOR IT!
Go for it, we did and we painted with tennis balls, giant pucks, rollers, hands, feet and other odd items. A had a ball, and the best part was taking a little painting break to do a little shimmy to ABBA that was blasting in the background. My boy likes to groove!!!
I will include a full gallery of photos here shortly - what a wonderful program!!! I have determined we will have one art project a week at the house here, in lieu of classes, as he enjoyed it so much - providing I can hang drop sheets on the walls for coverage!!!
